Many are cancer survivors or have family members who are cancer fighters. The ministry uses funds raised during the year to support parish families facing cancer and a number of cancer support organizations, both locally and nation-wide. Support GroupThe ministry hosts a monthly adult Cancer Support Group. These meetings are informal and discussion - based where support and understanding are offered to participants.Prayer ListThe ministry maintains a Ministry Prayer List of those fighting cancer, either by name or anonymously, for members of the parish, community, and world. Contact the ministry if you would like to place a name on the prayer list. Annual Bunco/Corn Hole TournamentT hisfunnightistheministrysannualfundraiser. Patrons try their hands at bunco or corn hole while helping those fighting cancer. No experience is nec-essary. Cancer Fighters Dinner & ConcertThe ministry hosts a free catered dinner and concert honoring cancer fighters and caregivers.Luminary ServiceT o remember, honor, and pray for those who have fought cancer, the ministry hosts an annual Luminary Service. Luminaries and torches with the names of cancer fighters line the path from the steps of the St. Teresa of Avila sanctuary across the lawn. After the evening Mass on the night of the ceremony, attend-ees gather and pray a Rosary together or spend time walking among the candle-lit bags and torches. 92'
