b'Knights of Columbus Georgia State CouncilResolution GA21-03WHEREAS:On February 5, 2021, the Supreme Board of Directors elected Patrick E. Kelly as the 14 thSupreme Knight, and WHEREAS, Patrick E. Kelly has been a Knight of Columbus since 1983, is a Past State Deputy of the District of Columbia, former Executive Director of the St. John Paul II, National Shine, former Vice President of Public Policy, member of the Board of Director since 2013, and the 27 thDeputy Supreme Knight since January 1, 2017, andWHEREAS, Patrick E. Kelly served the nation for 24 years until 2016, culminating at the rank of Captain in the United States Navy Judge Advocate Corps Reserve, specializing in international and operational law, and as the Commanding Officer of the international law unit at the U. S. Naval War College, and WHEREAS, Patrick E. Kelly also served the nation as the Legislative Counsel to the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in the U. S. House of Representatives, the Department of Justice, and as Senior Advisor to the Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom at the State Department, and WHEREAS, Patrick E. Kelly has been the chairman of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, and on the Council of Advisers at the Center for the Study of Statesmanship at the Catholic University, and WHEREAS, Patrick E. Kelly earned a bachelors degree in economics and a law degree from Marquette University, and a masters in theology from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family at The Catholic University of America, be it RESOLVED, that the Georgia State Council, Knights of Columbus is extremely pleased with the election of Patrick E. Kelly as the 14 thSupreme Knight, and is highly confident in his qualifications and capabilities for a position of such importance, and be itFURTHER RESOLVED, that we pledge our support to Supreme Knight Patrick E. Kelly and pray for his success in the furthering of the vision of Blessed Michael J.
