b'STEPHEN D. PARKESBISHOPofSAVANNAHMay 2021Dear Brother Knights,I would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to the Diocese of Savannah as you celebrate our Catholic faith and enjoy the gift of fellowship in beautiful Jekyll Island.Al-though I am not able to be with you during this time (as I was previously scheduled for the celebration of Confirmation in other parts of our vast Diocese), I am confident that your spiritual needs will be well attended to and that your time together will bear much fruit. This years Georgia State Council meetings of the Knights of Columbus commence on May 13th, the liturgical feast of Our Lady of Fatima. The appearance of Our Lady to the shepherd children over a period of months is a reminder of Gods incredible love for us and encourages us to have great hope for the future. In the midst of the many challenges that we face as a society, as communities, as families and as individuals we can take comfort in the protection of the mantle of the Blessed Mother. As we celebrate the Year of St. Joseph, I pray that you may grow in your love for the Holy Family and seek to make your own family a holy family.I am grateful to the Knights of Columbus for your dedication to providing men the op-portunity to grow in faith, hope and love.Your tireless devotion to helping others is evident through the incredible charitable works that you accomplish. You are voice for those in our world who have a voice but their voice is not heard because many do not listen. Most espe-cially your ministry to promote the dignity of life is greatly appreciated and very necessary.I will look forward to joining you in the future. In the meantime, May we meet each day in our prayers and Rejoice in the Lord Always! In Christ,Most Reverend Stephen D.
