b'AUGUSTINE MYSLINSKIABBOT, MONASTERYof theHOLY SPIRITMay 14, 2020I would like to begin by expressing that it is our hope and prayer that all the Knights and their families are safe and well at this time. We here at the monastery have been in strict isolation for two months nowa natural transition for a contemplative monastic community. We are doing well at the moment. It comes as a disappointment that we will not be able to gather this year for the 2020 Annual State Convention of the Knights of Columbus. Unfortunately, there are many disappointing moments for people around the world as we deal with the current pandem-ic. We certainly live in a momentous time. Truly unprecedented. We are called to put our trust in God for however long this situation may last. Our Church calls us to unite with each other in prayer and support as we move forward, dealing with so many challenges.I believe the Knights of Columbus will continue to serve the Church and the local community in creative ways during this time. I do not doubt that during this pandemic, there have already been plans made as well as execution of plans which will serve in ways reflective of the service-oriented character of the Knights. We must remember during this time that God is on our side during this pandemic. He is not on the side of the virus. He will draw good from it all despite the pain and suffering and even death, which comes from this situation. We need to be still and know He is God. Everything seems to be in flux right now, but God is always constant, sure and steady. We look forward to gathering again one day soon as Knights. We know how so many are longing to gather and worship in a church. I encourage you to keep your desire for this, knowing we will be in our churches together again. The monks keep you all united in prayer as we are privileged to continue a full liturgical life herepraying for the wellbeing and salvation of the world. Our monastery is always appreciative of all you have done for us throughout the years. Although we cannot express this in person this year, we hold you all in our hearts with much gratitude. Please pray for us as well!Sincerely in Christ,Rt. Rev.
