b'FATHER JOSE KOCHUPARAMPILSTATE CHAPLAINGreetings of peace, love and prayer to all the Knights, their dear wives and to their dear and near ones! The world is witnessing 2020 a unique year with the humanity standing at a loss trying to figure out what is going on. Covid-19 made a global invasion and all of us are reeling its aftermath. We are all slowly being acquainted with a new normal lifestyle. The new normal is forcing us to forgo all that have been hitherto the normal. The Knights of Columbus in the state of Georgia have been excited on the prospect of our state convention that was to have been held in Savannah. The unfortunate and unexpected turn of events due to this pandemic forced us to alter those well-choreographed events into the confines of our living rooms. Hence we have the virtual state convention this year. We participate in this years convention, even though by being physically apart staying in our homes, our resolve to remain strong and be united ever more is deep in our hearts and minds. On this occasion I would like to quote some of the statements posted on the webpage of the Supreme Council:We are Catholic men building a bridge back to faith. There is much good and necessary work to be done in this world, and that is what the Knights do every day. No doubt, joining the rest of the Knights world over the tens of thousands of Knights in the state of Georgia are actively involved in building a bridge back to faith by focusing their attention on Faith, Family, Community and Life.As we continue to visit the website further it states: Our goal is to help men, their families and their par-ishes grow closer to Christ. Through our programs and resources, we provide opportunities to live and spread the Catholic faith. Its a sheer joy and inspiration to the hearts and minds to see what a tremendous job our Knights are undertaking in building the bridge back to faith. Who among Catholics, even among non-Chris-tians, wouldnt be enthused when read: We are Catholic men who lead, serve, protect and defend. We share a desire to be better husbands, fathers, sons, neighbors and role models and to put charity and community first. The Supreme Knight, Carl A. Anderson, in his message on the May issue of the Columbia magazine speaks of the latest initiative to help combat the global pandemic that involves millions of dollars:there is the multimillion dollar food assistance program being carried out through our Leave No Neighbor Behind initiative. Launched during Holy Week in more than 20 cities in the United State and Canada, it is moving throughout both countries as our brother Knights team up with local food banks. His words very well speak of the social commitment of this global fraternal organization.Charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism are the basic principles through which the Knights look and vi-sualize the world around. Their vision and mission is contained in these four principles. Under the able and commendable leadership of the current State Deputy, Mark Hofmann and his council, the tens of thousands of Knights in the state of Georgia are committed and resolved to server the Church and the community. The State Deputy has commenced lot of programs for the state of Georgia. In the rural setting of our small parish, St. Mary Mother of God in Jackson, GA, I can proudly say the members of the local council of the Knights of Columbus are the parishs backbone. Without them we wouldnt have been able accomplish as a parish what all we have accomplished till date. I am so thankful and grateful to God for this group of faith filled men who serve the Church with such love, devotion, resolve and commitment and for inspiring Father McGivney to found this fraternal organization in the nineteenth century that has a membership over a million globally. I pray and beseech the Almightys abundant blessings on each and every member of this world wide fra-ternal organization of the Knights of Columbus, and in a special way as the state Chaplain, on the Knights of the state of Georgia. May your dear wives, beloved family members and dear and near ones as well be blessed by our Lord. Vivat Jesus! With prayers and every best wishes,Fr. Jose KochuparampilState Chaplain.23'
