b'Knights of Columbus Georgia State CouncilResolution GA20-18WHEREAS:In August 1995, Franciscan Father Gregory John Hartmayer was appointed pastor of St. Philip Benizi Parish in Jonesboro, Georgia, and became pastor of St. John Vianney Parish in Lithia Springs in July 2010, andWHEREAS:On July 19, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Father Gregory John Hartmayer, Bishop of the Diocese of Savannah, andWHEREAS:On October 18, 2011, at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah, Georgia, he was consecrated as the fourteenth Bishop of Savannah, andWHEREAS:Bishop Hartmayer has been a loyal and steadfast supporter of the Knights of Columbus and the Georgia State Council, and is a Brother Fourth Degree Sir Knight, andWHEREAS:His Excellency continually supports the Annual Meetings of the Georgia State Council, and the Annual Supreme Conventions with the Georgia delegation, andWHEREAS: On March 5, 2020, Our Holy Father, Pope Francis appointed His Excellency, Bishop Gregory John Hartmayer, Archbishop of Atlanta, therefore be itRESOLVED:That the Georgia Knights of Columbus on May 17 th , 2020 at the Virtual Annual Meeting, do hereby express their sincere appreciation and thanks to his Excellency, Most Reverend Gregory Hartmayer, for his leadership and support throughout both Dioceses in Georgia.This resolution was recommended by the unanimous vote of the Georgia State Executive Board by virtual acknowledgement or email in May 2020.Respectfully submitted:Attested:Mark W.
